LA PINA Cycling Marathon is part of FiveStars League and as such adheres to the specifics of this leagues regulations. This states that all cyclists which are classified under the Amateur Sector Ranking (Ranking Settore Amatoriale (RSA)) and / or enrolled in one of the five races of the FiveStars League must undergo the prescribed standards of health protection (see complete rules on the site www.vainbici.it ). Cyclists who do not adhere to the discipline of the FiveStars League will not be allowed entry LA PINA Cycling Marathon in 2012 and other FiveStars league events (Colli, Felice Gimondi, Sportful Dolomiti Race e Maratona delle Dolomiti).Professionals, Elite (men and women) and Under 23 are eligible to enter only for promotional purposes and may not participate in any way in order to gain ranking of any sort..
The event is by invitation only and the Organising Committee may at any time, at its sole discretion, to decide whether to accept the entry or to exclude a member from the event in the case where it may damage the events image. We reserve the right to accept requests from cyclists who have in the past been penalized and / or disqualified on the basis of doping.
PARTICIPATION:
Entry is open to all cyclists, both touring and amateur cyclists, with a valid 2012 F.C.I. license or equivalent license from other sports entities such as Udace, Uisp, ACLI, AICS, CSI, Endas, Csen, Inlac, Cns Libertas. Included are foreign entities recognized by the UCI (Note : Triathlon licenses are not recognized by FCI). Both male and females license holders can participate between the ages 19 and 65. Permission is granted to minors, aged over 17 years, persons over 65 years and ciclosport riders, but they are restricted to the short course of 118km.CLASSIFICATION:
the cyclists are free to choose the distance more suitable for their strengths during the day of the event by respecting the points of control along the routes (penalty is the exclusion from the final classification). LA PINA Cycling Marathon is an Agonistic/ Competitive/ Cyclosport event hence is important to practice and observe the Rules of the Road at all times.Cyclists overtaken by the “fine gara ciclistica” (end of the race) vehicle will continue the race as cyclotourists but keeping the number on. The number given by the Organization Committee has to be visible and one has to be attached on the handle, the other on the rear of the shirt. Do not roll the number up on the frame. It is against the law to change the format of the numbers.
The homologated helmet has to be worn and tied up at all times during the race.
All roads will be open to regular traffic during the entire race, hence is important to practice and observe the “Codice della Strada” (rules of the road) at all times.

For the competitive race the start of LA PINA Cycling Marathon is held at 7:45 am.For the cyclotourists the staggered or “aliquot” departure will be held between 7:50am and 8:15am.

The race area will open at 6:30am; the latest GRANFONDO finish time will be 17:00 pm; the latest MEDIOFONDO finish time will be 14:00 pm (completion outside of these times will not be considered as valid); Participants in both distances will be able to view their race times after the race.RACE DIVISION GATES:
For participants choosing to race in Granfondo shall note that there shall be a “closing gate” in the vicinity of where the two distances deviate from one another, this being Quero, on the way up to Monte Tomba. Participants who do not arrive within the cut off time (1 pm) to this gate will be redirected to the Mediofondo course. Everyone arriving in Follina after 10:30 am must choose the Mediofondo.REGISTRATION OPEN DATE:

REGISTRATION:
LA PINA Cycling Marathon is an invitational race and once registered, the rider becomes an associate of the entity SSD Granfondo Pinarello; the organizing committee reserves the right to not accept incomplete or illegible registrations.It is the participants own responsibility and interest to own a current and valid race license with a recognized cycling club which provides public liability insurance all year round. This must protect the rider in the event of ill health or accident or the damage that could be caused by the participant, necessary to ensure the participation in marathon events. Please refer to the race regulations for specific information.

Registrations must be submitted via the official Entry Form or on an official Team Letterhead with the following details for each individual athlete: First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, Sex, Full Address, Phone Number, CHIP code (in the instance of personally owned chips), Signature.
For group registrations, an accumulated total payment can be made, along with a full list of athletes and their complete details, signed by the President of the entity.
The document can be sent via mail, email or via to the abovementioned address/number, enclosing the relative receipt of payment (registrations without payment receipt will not be accepted).
For teams with numerous registrations it is possible to substitute riders, provided that all changes are communicated via fax or email before the close of business of 30th June 2012.
ATTENTION
The type of the race: partenza alla francese or agonistic must be indicated in the registration fee.
For both races you must send us the medical certificate.

RACE NUMBERS:
Entry is guaranteed for the first 3000 cyclists with Italian residency and to the first 500 cyclists with foreign status, summing to a restricted total of 3500 participants. No entries will be accepted beyond this maximum. From July 1st, 2012, the Entry is available only for the staggered departure and the Fee will be increased by € 10.00.
* FOREIGNERS: The Entry Fee includes a FCI (Italian Cycling Federation) One Day License. To be eligible:
1. All participants are required to supply a copy of an official medical certificate which states they are in good health (or declaration from their GP);
2. If holding a recognized UCI license, a copy must be included/attached with their entry (see Union Cycliste Internationale www.uci.ch)
Included in the Race Entry is: entry to LA PINA Cycling Marathon, participation certificate, medical and mechanical assistance (excluding spare parts), massage, feed stations, end of race party and the 2012 LA PINA Cycling Marathon PROMOTIONAL GADGET.
If you don't present the medical certificate you won't be able to register for the race.
Included in the Race Entry is: entry to lapinarello cycling marathon, participation certificate, medical and mechanical assistance (excluding spare parts), massage, feed stations, end of race party and the 2011 lapinarello cycling marathon, PROMOTIONAL GADGET.

Registrations received via fax which request billing a credit card, shall incur a fixed commission fee of € 2.00..
Acceptance of registration remains the decision of the organisers; whom reserve the right to decline under their final judgment. In the case of a declined registration, the fee will be returned in full.

for those not holding a regular cycling license recognized by UCI, it is compulsory to ask for a day license “FCI FREE TIME” at a cost of €10.00. You should ask for the day license at the time of registration. The day license includes rider insurance. If you choose to register for a One Day Race License, it is compulsory you also send a copy of:Medical certificate declaring your fitness to compete in a Granfondo event

- first 3 ranked in the Women’s Categories Master W1 19/39, Master W2 40/54, Master W3 55 and above (Granfondo and Mediofondo).
- the 1°, 100° and 1000° ranked in the classification given by the sum of the timings of climbing of Passo Praderadego and Monte Tomba.
REGULATIONS - RACE CHIP - WINNING TIME:
The race timing shall be conducted by Winning Time.IT IS COMPULSORY TO VALIDATE:

From 01/01/2012
Athletes, who do not own a chip, can purchase one when picking up their race packs from the WINNING TIME POINT. The cost is €15.00 and shall be valid immediately.
The athlete must place the chip on the ankle using the Velcro band, which is comfortable to wear. Or they can mount it between the wheel and fork of their bike using a special plastic case. Please note that any other form of mounting does not guarantee the chip will function correctly.
Athletes can also rent a chip, which is valid for ONLY one day. A deposit of €10.00 is required (whereby a refund of €7.00 will be given back). Rental chips will be provided with the Velcro ankle strap which must be used for the race.

The lack of validation of the CHIP will be excluded from the ranking of the race.
LICENSE VERIFICATION:
All registered participants must present themselves at LA PINA Cycling Marathon INFO POINT which is located at the LOGGIA DEI CAVALIERI in via Martiri della Libertà) . It is here that they are required to verify their racing licence and to collect race numbers.The Info Point is open on the following times:
• FRIDAY 13th July from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm
• SATURDAY 14th July from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm
• SUNDAY 15th July from 6:00 am to 6:45 am
Participants must present their license, a valid document and proof of payment.
For teams, a team leader is expected with the entries’ list, copies of the cyclist cards and copy of the payment.
Individual riders must bring their license along with identification and receipt for payment. Teams may send one representative in possession of the Team Lost, photocopies of all license and the receipt for payment.
FRONT & REAR NUMBERS:
Race numbers MUST be worn by the rider at all times for identification. Once shall be mounted on the front, using the handlebars and must be in good vision, in order to avoid being penalised and excluded from the overall race times; both front and rear number will have a unique colour.PARTICIPANT WITHDRAWL:
If an athlete is unable to attend the event, the fee will remain valid for the 2013 edition if the notice is received either via fax or e-mail by close of business July 10th, 2012.CANCELLATION OF EVENT:
The event will take place regardless if the weather conditions, except in cases of a natural disaster, in which case the organization shall honour € 5.00 of the entry fee for the 2013 edition.COURSE JUDGES:
Controls shall be in place at both the start, finish and along the race course for both distances. Judges and time management shall be tasked with this and any rider who is seen leaving the departure earlier than scheduled, or leaving the marked race course shall be disqualified and excluded from the final rankings.RESULTS:
Individual and team ranking shall be published on the website: www.lapinarello.com in the days following the event.TRAVEL ASSISTANCE:
During the event there shall be a large number of mechanical and medical support vehicles, both fixed and mobile. It is prohibited to gain assistance from private vehicles, this will lead to race disqualification. An emergency number has been set up and shall be used solely in the case of major emergencies during the race: +39-348-9006514.Though be aware the Emergency Number 118 for an Ambulance shall be used where necessary.
REFRESHMENTS & ECOZONES:
Refreshments will be organized along the way complete and / or water only for cyclists who wear the race number.Ecozones are an initiative of the FiveStars League in order to support and respect the environment. Ecozone is an area of waste collection located in the vicinity of the refreshment areas, where water bottles, bottles, bar wrappers and waste in general is usually thrown to the ground by riders; the Ecozone will be indicated by signs along the route, they are identical on both race course and easily recognizable.
The Organizing Committee, in collaboration with the Commissioners and staff of FCI race organization, aim to ensure that all riders’ participants do not litter the race course and instead use the Ecozone areas. Those riders, who do not respect this initiative, shall be excluded from the FiveStar league races for the entire year.
SUPPORT VEHICLES:
Technical and Motorcycles authorized by the Police and the Organizing Committee shall be placed in front of the riders in order to escort them throughout both race course. Only those who have been given permission and whom attain the appropriate signage, shall be allowed on the race course with (race starters, officials, race director and sweep van)INTERSECTIONS:
Members of the organization and Civil Protection shall be made available at all intersections to ensure the safety of all riders. Riders are asked to cooperate with all personnel and respect the Laws of Enforcement at all times.THEFT:
We recommend and ask that you take extra care during the entire race program to avoid possible bicycle theft. Avoid leaving bikes in unattended vehicles, especially during the “pasta party” at the conclusion of the race.SWEEP VAN:
The organizing committee has made available a “sweep van” on race day. This is a service for participants who find themselves unable to continue riding. Riders who enter the van must remain within until it reaches the finish area. The Emergency number : +39-348-9006514 will be able to provide information on the location and distance of the sweep van at all times.THE ROAD:
All roads will be open to traffic during the entire event, therefore care and full compliance with the Codice della Strada (Road Rules) shall be made at all times. Riders who are not registered for the event and cause damage during the event shall be charged as per normal laws.RUBBISH:
cyclists caught while throwing rubbish along the route will be excluded from the final ranking. Shall all the participants maintain a respectful behaviour along the race and at the start stage.FEDERAL REGULATIONS:
Please remember that LA PINA Cycling Marathon is an amateur competition. Regulations which are not noted here, one must refer to those noted in the ‘Commissione Nazionale Cicloturismo of the F.C.I.’ and the UCI; the Organization accepts no responsibility for events that occurred before, during and after the event which finds participants involved in events either by themselves and with any third party/s.INSURANCE:
LA PINA Cycling Marathon event is insured under the Policy No. 100361813 of the "“Convenzione Assicurativa Multirischi F.C.I. – INA ASSITALIA” and Policy No. 227.138.61 of the “Convenzione AXA Assicurazioni”.COMPLAINTS:
All complaints will need to be addressed to the race judge within the terms and regulations of the contest and shall be accompanied by the charge as set in the F.C.I regulations.IT IS COMPULSORY TO WEAR A CERTIFIED/APPROVED BICYCLE HELMET AT ALL TIMES.
TERMS OF PARTICIPATION:
I have read the rules and regulations of the event and shall obey. I declare that I am of 18 years of age the day before the LA PINA Cycling Marathon. I voluntarily sign declaring that I am physically fit and adequately prepared. I also declare that I am in the possession of a valid medical certificate. I authorize the Organizing Committee to use photographs, tapes, videos and anything related to my participation for any legitimate use, without any remuneration. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to not accept any unwanted entries.PRIVACY POLICY CONSENT:
